Speaking of Japanese custard roll cake, most people immediately think of
Nobel Cake. It's a very famous pastry shop in Yilan. Actually, this kind of delicious dessert is originated in Japan and have being famous for a long time before it was introduced to Taiwan. The shop founder, Chang Chi-chung was so amazed when he first tasted it that he decided to develop it in Taiwan. After doing numerous researches and developments for eight months, finally he succeeded in making the Japanese custard roll cake. He even made slight improvements to make it tastes better. Not surprisingly, the dessert immediately drew everyone's attention. The mania for Japanese custard roll cake last until today, and the founder continue creating new flavors to surprise people. Today, there are already twelve flavors in total.
Among all flavors, two of them are my favorites. One is strawberry flavor. Fresh strawberries, creamy custard and soft sponge cake match perfectly, making it a special dessert to enjoy.
Another one has a poetic name called "fresh fruit hidden in snow". Not only the name but its outlook is beautiful, just like an exquisite artwork. Pineapple, apricot, peach and passion fruit are used and forms a unique fragrant.
Japanese custard roll cake is indeed an amazing dessert to taste. Besides, the price is really reasonable and affordable. Never tried even one bite before? Then what are you waiting for?

ReplyDeletei am kevin. Speaking of custard cake, lots of people loves it including me. I usually eat it after a meal as a dessert. The smooth and soft taste gives me a wonderful emotion to finish a meal. To me, it is so cherring for me when I am dowm . There is a custard shop in ILAN is also famous, lots of people nomatter how far thy live go to the shop to buy the dilicious cake(義順軒).I t is famous for its flavor of mango, tilamisu and coffee and taro. But i have never tried the flavor of fresh fruits flavor which is in your picture. Maybe sometimes I should try it ><. Oh, and the calories is high to me as a chubby guy QQ. Well, anyway I love it!!
In fact, I was amazed by its wonderful taste when I first eat Japanese custard roll cake of Nobel Cake. Its strawberry flavor is really tasty that I can’t help but eat more. The strawberry is so big and fresh that I can’t forget the happiness when I have a bite. I always ask my mother to buy it through internet. Sometimes we need to wait for several weeks because there are so many customers. I really hope that I can eat it one more time.

ReplyDeleteI'm Vivian. I have tasted the Nobel Cake twice before. My favorite flavor is also the strawberry one. The fresh strawberry inside the cake, the putin-tasted creamy custard, and some fresh cream indeed make the whole cake taste special and even perfect! I was completely amazed at the custard row cake when I had it for the first time. In addition, I even finished a whole one then! I really look forward to the delicious dessert you recommend in your next post!
Wow, you're post looks so specialized in dessert that some of the terms I even haven't heard before, such as the title, custard roll cake( sorry for being ignorant and inexperienced). Your writing style is another thing that impressed me. The introduction toward the mini delicacy is interesting and comprehensive. I think the desserts in those two picture look extremely delicious, but I prefer the strawberry one since the other is not so appetising judging from their outlook. By the way, I am wondering how much do they cost you.
